Pugneus stage (to replace volar).

Pugnus, is Latin for fist, punch, fistful, and handful.

The id aggression at this deutero phase, is punching but is felt as wailing on, or beating up a father-substitute or being so beaten, oneself. I mentioned it in relation to the Matrix before, and how the computer agents and the hand to hand combat they'd get into with Neo et al, was a stronger emphasis than the actual death aspect.

As we've seen in the Odyssey, oral cannibalistic impulses to swallow whole (proto), and then later to eat the skin of others (the bite of conscience in the full trito), are also part of this stage.

I realized that the hand was also part of feminine development at the earlier part-ego stage and that volar is probably a better designation for that phase.

It also raises the interesting idea of whether erotogenic zones aren't passed back and forth in masculine and feminine development.

Hands in the feminine in the part-ego stage to hands in the masculine in the pugneus stage

oral impulses in the masculine in the pugneus stage to oral impulses in the feminine in the anal stage (i.e. Persephone eating the pomegranate, Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf)

ocular impulses in the masculine in the part-ego stage, and ocular impulses in the feminine in the pugneus stage.

... I'm glad I caught this before my next book. This is another post I'll make soon.
